Newsletters

Being a newsletter editor is a hard job, especially if you do not know how to lay it out, get it printed or even have articles to put in it!  ACBS is here to help. Following is a few tips to get you going.

First you need articles. Click here to be taken to the newsletter editors area to download articles for your newsletter. Please be sure to upload articles for your fellow editors to use as well. An email with the password was sent out to the newsletter editors. If you did not receive one, please request it from the ACBS webmaster.

Next you need to layout it out. Microsoft offers a variety of free newsletter templates for you use and customized for your chapter. Click here to visit the Microsoft site to download your template. Or you may choose and download a couple templates created by the ACBS. Insert your chapter logo, articles and a few pictures and you have a newsletter!

You have a couple options to get your newly created newsletter to the chapter members. If your members prefer a hard copy mailing, you will need to get your newsletter printed. For ease of printing, try uploading your file to a local printer or office store. Office Max or Kinkos are couple good options.

Don’t forget the option of sending the newsletter via email. By simply converting your newsletter to pdf and emailing it to your members, money and trees can be saved by using this method! If you do not already have that option to create a pdf from your current software, click here for free pdf creator.

Websites

Getting a website for your chapter has never been easier! ACBS is providing a website for each chapter along with instructions how to keep it updated. The ACBS is also providing the hosting. Contact the ACBS webmaster at webmaster@acbs.org to use this tool to communicate to your members.

Show posters and promotional items

The ACBS will help you with a show poster to be used at your boat shows. Please forward your requests to webmaster@acbs.org.

DVDs are available at headquarters for your use. Nothing grab’s attention more than seeing and hearing the beautiful boats running along the water. Run the DVDs during the show and provide information on how they can become a member.
