In the many months of organizing and planning prior to the Annual Meeting/1st Annual International Boat Show, the biggest responsibility of any committee was ensuring that the venue was a success and that the participants enjoyed themselves. When John Harvey and I began the planning for this event almost two years ago we never imagined the enthusiasm and participation would be so overwhelmingly wonderful. We measure our success in many ways: numbers in attendance, quantity and quality of boats, weather and location. Through the hard work and dedication of my co-chair, John, and the volunteers of the Inland Empire Chapter, the weekend was perfect on all points. There were 118 boats registered in the Show – a tremendous variety. On display were some of the finest examples of restorations and original boats in the nation. Registered attendance set a new record for an ACBS Annual Meeting, in excess of 530 smiling faces. The weather was perfect, 75 degrees and sunny. The setting... words can’t describe.

I am very pleased that this new venue of Boat Show and Meeting together will be the standard from this day forward. It is great fun and brings new meaning and purpose to a boating organization to meet and display our treasures and acknowledge our accomplishments in an annual celebration. I hope you are looking forward to Ottawa as much as I am!
