As I sit here writing this message, it reminds me that in previous messages I’d often speak of current events or events about to occur in the near future. However well intended, I find when I read my own article some items are either outdated or the future dates have already happened since the Rudder was distributed. This isn’t intended as a jab at the Rudder staff. It is just that deadlines are almost two months prior to you receiving this publication. However, there is one thought on my mind today that is always timeless. The thought I would like to share with you all is Thanks.

ACBS has grown and prospered and gets better each year. All of this would not be possible if it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of everyone who serves selflessly and tirelessly. This thanks is extended to everyone who volunteers to the betterment of ACBS from the local chapter levels up to International.

I would like to give thanks to the entire membership for your dedication to protect and preserve the treasures of our boating heritage. If it were not for you, the era we cherish so much would certainly be lost for future generations.
I would like to give thanks to all of you who share your wealth of antique and classic boats with the less fortunate by supporting outings and boat rides for those who might never have the opportunity to be a part of our fabulous hobby.
I would like to give thanks to the many new friends my wife Nancy and I have met throughout North America while attending and participating in the numerous ACBS functions.

The Antique and Classic Boat Society is an association of wonderful people who make it very easy for me to volunteer my time and efforts. However, I would not be sitting here and writing this message if it weren’t for all of you.

Thank You,

Jeff
