“The Glen-L” really was built in 2015!
So a 2015 ACBS Gold Contemporary Award was presented to a 2015 homebuilt boat. “The Glen-L” is 19.5 ft. Torpedo model was built by Roberta Hegy. The boat is powered by Crusader 5.7 L Captain’s Choice Engine with 8 cylinders and 330 hp.
Roberta and Richard Hegy are members of the Glacier Lakes Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society.
Wooden boats that have been built within the most recent 25 years are officially in the “Contemporary” classification. Gold Awards are presented to boats that are judged to be worthy of 92 through 96 points. At the Annual International Boat Show held at Gull Lake, Minnesota, 31 Gold Awards in total were presented to boats in various classes.
