WELCOME TO THE 43RD ANNUAL SUNNYLAND 

ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC BOAT FESTIVAL

March 21-24, 2024 in Tavares, Florida

 

Dear Fellow Boaters:

It’s time to start thinking about the Sunnyland Antique and Classic Boat Festival and getting your boats ready for the first show of the 2024 Boating Season! Sunnyland offers a beautiful and varied collection of boats, fantastic opportunities to see old and new friends, and of course, our popular flea market with great items to take home.

Building on the huge success of our 2023 show, we’ll continue to use the same format. Whether you are a seasoned Sunnyland visitor or this is your first time to the festival, here are some helpful tips to get you on your way.

Location:

The Sunnyland Antique and Classic Boat Festival is held at Wooton Park on Lake Dora in the City of Tavares. The GPS address is 123 South Joanna Ave, Tavares, Florida 32778 or GPS Coordinates 28.48.043N——81.43.655W.

Our show offers free parking in the City Garage and we will have a shuttle to move people to and from the event and the parking garage.

Show Registration:

Show Registration is open on line and is very user friendly.  In addition to water displays, Sunnyland also features land displays. During the registration process you may also purchase tickets to our various events througout the weekend.

Ticket Sales:

The Sunnyland festival is held Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23. Tickets for the two-day show are $10 per person. Both cash and credit card are accepted at the gates or tickets may be pre-oreded by visiting our website, www.acbs-sunnyland.org.

 

Set-Up Day, Registered Boats Arrive and Packet Pick-up:

Thursday March 21: Registered boats should plan to arrive in Tavares on Thursday, March 21st and follow the signs to registration. A Sunnyland member will be at the intersection of Ruby and Johanna Street beginning at 8am to personally direct you to our registration trailer on Johanna Street next to the hotel. Everyone is required to come thru the registration to get your packets and assignments for the show.

** Registration will close on Thursday promptly at 5pm to give everyone an opportunity to attend the social events that evening. If you arrive after 5pm on Thursday, please visit the registration trailer on Friday morning.

Boat Launch:

Plan to launch and recover your own boat. We will have a launch crew on site to assist. You may also use any of the ramps in proximity to the show and arrive by boat. Just a reminder that our new docks require several fenders to protect your boat. With the addition of our new launch ramp, we no longer offer tractor launch and trailer valet service.

You can leave your trailer with us at the ramp or take it with you. You can park your tow vehicle in the city parking garage.

Sunnyland Schedule of Events:

Thursday, March 21st

9am: ACBS Quarterly Board Meeting in the Tavares Pavilion. 

6:00pm: Thursday evening: Welcome reception at Tavares Pavillion hosted by the City of Tavares. Light refreshments will be served. 

Friday, March 22nd

6pm: Picnic at Hickory Point and a Captains Party in the large tent. Cocktails and light food will be provided, however, this is not a dinner event. 

Saturday, March 23

9am: Opening ceremony in the Tavares Pavillion.

11:30am: The Ladies Luncheon and Style Show at the Puddle Jumpers Restaurant. 

6:00pm: The traditional dinner banquet will be hosted by Carrabas. Cocktails begin at 6pm followed by dinner at 7pm. 

Sunday, March 24th 

10:00am: Awards Ceremony followed by Church Services.

The success of the Sunnyland Show is attributed to our many volunteers. If you would like to volunteer for the show, please call Debi Weinert at 352-609-5134.

Flea Market: 

Registration for flea market vendors can be found on our website, www.acbs-sunnyland.org. All flea market vendors must set up on Thursday, March 21. Vendors may drive into the flea market area on Thursday to set up, and then must remove their vehicles. If you work out of your vehicle, you can leave it on site for the duration of the show. Tent Stakes cannot be used. Flea market vendors will be allowed to go in and out of the site on a daily basis beginning Thursday, March 21. There will be limited vehicle access to the flea market area on Friday and Saturday because of ticket sales.
