Summary from the March Board of Directors Meeting:
President Stan Struble called the meeting to order, welcomed the ACBS members and board members in attendance, and noted all committee reports are available online through www.myacbs.org.
Minutes from the October Planning meeting were approved.
Treasurer Jim Mersman presented a profit/loss report for FYE 11/30/18 and a profit/loss report for the 1st quarter of FY 2019 (Dec-Feb). FYE 2018 is currently being reviewed by the accounting firm for ACBS. The Treasurer’s Report was approved as presented.
The ED report included 4 items.
Since 2011, the number of active members has decreased by nearly 1,000. The number of active members in March of this year is slightly ahead of March 2018. This is a positive trend. Since January first of this year, 175 people have joined as new members.
Social Media continues to be an effective tool to create more awareness about ACBS and the hobby. Since 2017, the number of monthly visitors to the ACBS website has grown from 4,000 to more than 12,000. The number of Facebook followers has grown from 3,000 to 6,500.
The Rudder will now be called the ACBS Rudder to differentiate the ACBS magazine from other publications that use the name Rudder. The ACBS Rudder will display a new masthead and return to its former size of 8.5 x 11. Advertising will be displayed throughout the magazine providing better value to the print advertisers.
As noted above in the schedule for future dates, the locations for the 2020 and 2022 Annual Meeting and Boat Show were swapped. This change was approved by the board of directors.
