Scoiete Nautique de Bordeaux, the France Chapter of ACBS, held it’s first meeting of the season last weekend. It was on Lake Cazaux in Biscarosse for two days.

Located in the Landes department (region) of southwestern France, Lake Cazaux is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the area. It is known for its tranquility, as the surrounding forest helps protect it from the wind.  There are also beautiful fine sandy beaches and canals to explore.

The region is a wonderful summer holiday destination, and many visitors enjoy Lake Cazaux for the water sports like sailing, wakeboarding, and waterskiing. The Chapter members even put their vintage boats to use to pull a few water skiers over the weekend.

There are also several hiking trails and picnic locations along the coastline of Lake Cazaux allowing visitors the chance to appreciate the local flora and fauna.

Here is also a video of the Chapter meeting with Chapter President Dominique Lagarde addressing the society members.

  1. Thank you for sharing this- it’s fantastic to see what our French chapter is up to- pulling skiers with vintage boats no less! Lake Cazaux is on our long list of places to see when we return to France.
