General information:

The Sunnyland antique boat festival is in its 37th year and is the largest antique and classic wood boat show in the United States. Our footprint is over a third of a mile long and we usually have 250 to 300 boats on display. Our gate attracts 8 to 10 thousand people and there is literally something for everyone at our event.

The nautical flea market has more than 80 vendors with many hard to find marine parts for sale. We will have several stunning outboard motors on display as well as numerous race boats.

The Sunnyland annual event is in conjunction with spring break as is the kick-off show for the boating season. People from over 26 different states and Canada exhibit. We have several corporate sponsors that make our show a success and they offer many marine products to include new and restored vintage boats.

The Sunnyland chapter is the largest chapter in the ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC BOAT SOCIETY (ACBS) and represents the entire state of Florida. We have over 500 members and the entire show is run with volunteer help.

This is our 37th anniversary show and each year our show gets bigger and better. We started in Sanford, moved to Mount Dora and for the past 11 years the show has been in Tavares. This is a historical event for the Sunnyland chapter, please plan to join us for fun in the sun.

Check the Sunnyland website for more details. Click here for Registration information.

    • Travis, your 1958 Crestliner fits in the age classification of “Classic” and will be welcomed at the show. Details and registration will be posted as soon as they are available.

    • The Sunnyland Show on Lake Dora is definitely a go for the last weekend in March. While it’s true that there has been significant hurricane damage to the Tavares City docks, we have met with the city officials and they are solidly behind cleaning up the area in time for the show. Terry Fiest and the boat show committee are putting together final details, and although the show will be a bit different than in the past, I can guarantee you that it will be FUN!!!

TELL ALL YOUR BOAT LOVING FRIENDS TO MAKE THEIR PLANS TO COME TO TAVARES FOR THE SUNNYLAND SHOW IN MARCH. THEY WON’T WANT TO MISS IT!!

reply supplied from Bill Root, Sunnyland Boat Festival Committee

    • VF, your 1917 USN training Dory is in the “Historic” age classification. She would be welcome at the show and an interesting piece of history. Watch for the registration form which will be available later. You need to be an ACBS member to enter a boat in the show.

    • Bill Root from the Sunnyland Chapter supplied this information:
Please let Shelly know that we are not yet confirmed for on-site dry camping, but there are very nice RV facilities available about ten minutes away at Fisherman’s Cove RV Park. She should call Rusty at 352-343-1233. He has special rates for the boat show.

  1. Where is the closest place for nice accomodations? It will be our first time visiting Florida for a wooden boat show. Looking forward to it.
    Thanks Sany

    • Local Accommodations:
On Site Lodging – Lakeview Inn – 352-508-5344
Short distance from show – Mission Inn Resort & Club – 352-234-3900 – Room Blocks are Filling Up! Call Today! Ask for the Sunnyland Boat Show Room Block
NO RV PARKING AT SHOW SITE
Due to city construction projects in the park area adjacent to the show site, we are unable to offer on-site RV parking this year. We have made arrangements for show participants to park at the Fisherman’s Cove RV Resort, located about three miles south of the show site. This is a class A park with full facilities. You will be responsible for providing your own transportation to and from the show site. Taxi service is available, and Uber also covers the area.
Other lodging – Tavares Chamber Listing at http://www.tavareschamber.com or Mount Dora lodging at http://www.mountdora.com

    • Our show is a non judged, strictly fun show. The focus is on everyone having a good time, free from the pressures of competition. We do have some “sponsor” awards that are determined throughout the show. (information from Bill Root)

  2. My husband restored a 1957 Stauter Built wooden boat (with 1956 outboard motor). He has shown at Madisonville, LA boat show several times. Is this type of boat included in your boat show?
