Boat Launching and Parking
There are two main choices for launching. Please make certain that your vessel is clean of invasive marine hitchhikers which includes invasive weed species, zebra mussels, etc. There is wash station located at the Rocky Mountain Trailhead (State Route 28 Pull-off) this is a voluntary and free service. https://www.adkwatershed.org/boat-wash-stations for more information.
Rivett’s Marina – Rivett’s is on Old Forge Pond and is free to launch and retrieve for Boat Show participants. You cannot leave your trailer there. The Town of Webb offers free boat trailer parking at the North Street lot, adjacent to the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center, 201 North St, Old Forge.
Inlet Public launch – located on Route 28 in Inlet. This is a free launch maintained by the NYS DEC. There is limited parking for trailers, and it fills quickly on weekends. Boats over 20’ will find this an easier launch to use. Student volunteers from Paul Smith’s college are usually there to ask about where your boat is coming from and if your boat is free of invasive plants and marine organisms. If you boat has been in other waters recently, you are advised to use the wash station mentioned above.
Please be advised – Beginning in 2025 NYS law requires all operators to carry a Boater Safety Certificate recognized by the State of New York.
Lodging Accommodations – reserve at your earliest convenience. Most places fill up very quickly during July and August.
