Merkmaid V was originally a Lake Tahoe boat…..owned by a great friend (Jimmy Schwartzman). I purchased the boat from Jimmy in 1986 because he said I was using it more than him.
My Dad had a 1955 Coronado purchased from Sierra Boat at Tahoe so you might say I was familiar with the boat. So I enjoyed Merkmaid V at Tahoe with my family until we moved to Amagansett, NY. We moved the boat to Shelter Island, NY in the Peconic Bay in 2015 and found a wonderful Antique Boat Specialist, Tom Hilliker from Vintage Marine who brought the boat back to original plus.
Last fall, we moved the boat to Lake George and we will be keeping Merkmaid at Hall’s Boats at Lake George where we look forward to meeting many active Antique Boat enthusiasts.
Look forward to an active Summer on Lake George.
Welcome to Lake George! We in the Adirondack Chapter look forward to boating with you, and in the meantime, Nick will surely make sure that you are well cared for. He took care of mine for decades.
