Mississippi Valley Chapter is the Antique and Classic Boat Society’s Chapter of the Week.
North, South, East, and West all view the St. Louis area as in the middle. It’s in the heart of the Mississippi River system and seemingly delineates the east from the west on the continent. And the Mississippi Valley Chapter of ACBS also is in the middle of generating enthusiasm for vintage boating and all that goes with it.
The Mississippi Valley Chapter has a new website this year and an active Facebook page. Both serve to communicate to their membership AND to the public about their vintage boats and activities.
As a chapter, they have events planned throughout the year sponsored either by the chapter or as guests at other community sponsored events. Everyone loves having their “show” boats as an attraction. One such event is a St. Patrick’s Day parade which features the boats on trailers decked out in green accessories.
One of the most valuable assets of this chapter is their “Ole Boys Club“. Read all about it in the June 14th news post.
Members have joined ACBS for various reasons having to do with vintage boats. They stay members of ACBS because of the relationships that develop. The Mississippi Valley Chapter exemplifies the very best in the values of the Antique and Classic Boat Society.
54 International Chapters of ACBS
The Antique and Classic Boat Society has 54 Chapters throughout the United States, Canada, and France. ACBS members who affiliate with a home chapter find a group of friends with whom to share boating experiences, boat stories, and the skills needed to maintain and/or preserve and restore their vintage boats. Inevitably, the genuine relationships formed at the chapter level are always mentioned when an ACBS member is asked why they value their ACBS membership.
Please share information about your chapter events to be posted on this website. Anyone can do that. You may email up to six pictures and text to kathyparker@acbs.org.
