A boat windshield?

Here is an old windshield found in a barn. It is 56.25″ long point to point and 15.75″ tall and has “Safety Plate”  AS-2-Ma etched in it.   It is not cracked. Where does it belong?    Please leave a reply if you can identify it’s original use.
