“Happy Days” is a 1956 23′ Chris Craft Continental.
She was chosen to receive the Most Original Award at the Smith Mountain Lake Chapter’s 26th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show.
“Happy Days” is owned by George and Joan Blosser of Moneta, Virginia. She was delivered from Cadillac, Michigan to Chris-Craft Dealer Harmon Dudd in Sturgis, Michigan on June 14, 1956. She is powered by her factory original MCL 175 HP engine bearing S/N 88712.
The Blossers are the 5th owner of Happy Days having traced her ownership through contact with Harmon Dudd’s daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Dudd Shank. Mrs. Shank was able to locate the original invoice and BSO documents in her late father’s records that were issued him by Chris-Craft in June of 1956. Mrs. Shank was 15 years old at the time of the delivery and remembered the boat and the details of the delivery to the original owner in Manchester, Maine.
Happy Days was professionally restored by Gary Lowell from Lowell Boats in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 2009 and is currently home ported on Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia.
