From Headquarters
The Sunnyland Chapter has rolled out the sunshine for the Antique Boat Festival in Tavares, Florida this week. The South Bound cruise enjoyed beautiful weather and only minor mishaps, like running out of fuel, that required tow-ins. The ACBS International Board held the Chapter Round Table and Board Meeting on Thursday and appreciated all of the Chapter representatives that participated in the meetings.
Yesterday saw the kick off of the show with participant boats cruising over to Lake Harris for lunch and back again through the canals. It was a fun day with many old friends reconnecting. And the BOATS….the range of boats in the show is amazing. There are of course Chris-Crafts, Centuries, and GarWoods, but also represented are boats from Riva, Boesch, Carlson, Dorsett, Lyman, Cigarette, even an Evenrude. The amphicars got out for a cruise early in the morning before taking their show location near the launch ramp. Today, folks will be able to take in not only all the boats at the dock, but also the race boats, canoes, vintage outboards, and classic glass on land display.
We hope everyone enjoys the Sunnyland Antique Boat Festival (either here in sunny Florida or Virtually). We’ll post more photos through next week.
