The unofficial start to boating season kicked off March 21st-24th in Tavares, Florida with some excellent pre-events, a chapter roundtable and international board meeting, followed by the popular Sunnyland Boat Festival.

Instagram REELS of our show coverage.

Personally, this was my first time attending the show and the first time ACBS International has covered the event to this extent on our social media accounts. Social media has the unique ability to reach a wider audience than many of our normal outreach efforts.

We put out over 40 video reports (Reels/Stories) during the event to share the excitement with our audience. Our statistics indicate we reached over 70,000 users, split between Instagram and Facebook, throughout the show coverage. What a way to kick off boat season!

Although weather cancelled the first day of the show, the Florida sunshine did return and redeem the event. Reporting LIVE:  https://www.instagram.com/reel/C40T2qar2lR/

With such a large crowd following us online, praise for our coverage poured in from as far away as Australia, France, and Finland. Members who were unable to attend the show in person this year were able to attend virtually as those in the north got a bit of snow, just to add insult to those of us fortunate enough to be able to play in boats in the Florida sun.

Sunnyland is a reunion of sorts in our hobby. Second only to our International Show each fall, it’ a great opportunity to re-connect with friends and make new ones. We were able to meet many of our sponsors in person and share some of what they’ve been working on in the off season. As always, we encourage you to support the folks that support the ACBS.

A ride in MISS AMERICA IX – It has been watched over 8000 times!

If your chapter is interested in learning how to cover your event on social media this summer or in providing sponsored coverage of future events, we’re gathering interest for those wanting to learn how this all works.  Let’s talk!

Or, if you have any questions about advertising or sponsorship, please reach out to seth@acbs.org to get a copy of our media kit and talk about the opportunities available.

In the meantime, if you see a guy with an ACBS burgee microphone wearing an @acbsboats t-shirt headed your way down the dock, say Hi!  You just might become Instagram famous!

  1. Excellent job covering Sunnyland this year, Seth! Not only are your posts interesting and engaging but you’re also a perfect ambassador for ACBS. Your positive attitude and welcome smile was always present whenever we encountered you at the show. Hope to see you in Minnesota for the International! Thanks for all you do!
