The Adirondack Chapter hosted the 45th Annual LG Rendezvous in Lake George, NY on August 25th from 10am – 4pm. There were over 50 boats in the water & on land. The oldest boat in the show was “Emma B.” She’s a 1904 Fay & Bowen Torpedo Stern Launch, 22 feet long, owned by John Macionis of Hague. There were 12 Antiques entered, including favorites “The Jug”, a 1928 Baby Garwood owned by Bruce Nash and last year’s Most Original Winner “The Laker”, a 1929 Chris Craft Cadet owned by Jeff Killeen of Diamond Point, NY.
Twenty Classic Category boats were registered for the show, including local favorite 1950 “Fish Tales III” owned by Ed Scheiber, and regular exhibitor “Golden Fury”, a 1957 Phil Harper Holiday owned by Duane Cipas of Linden, NJ.
The 2017 winners that returned were: Historic Winner “Boatacious”, Non-power Winner “Ghost”, and President’s Choice winner “American Honey”. The Contemporary category was comprised of 16 boats. Returning boats included “T-14”, owned by Teri Hoffman of Clifton Park, NY and “El Lagarto” the 2012 reproduction of the Gold cup Winner by Fish Brothers. Several Non-power and land display entrants rounded out the show.
Of special interest to our local Adirondack Chapter, our Founding member Joe Fleming joined us this year with his boat “Topridge”. She is a unique U-22 Chris Craft utility, with her signature blue hull which was painted originally by her famous first owner. Another link to our Chapter’s historic beginning was entrant “Garryowen”, a 1928 Hacker Built Sea Lyon Runabout. In the ’70s Jean Nelson bought this well used boat as a Christmas present for her husband Ray, who was another founding member of our chapter.
Back by popular demand, both the antique Model T and the Triumph sportscar clubs joined us. Food truck & ice cream trucks were in attendance along with various vendors.

Nice “live” coverage, Dan, of some wonderfully diverse, important craft with great participation. BTW, I always get a chuckle every time I see Buzz Lamb’s Chris Craft 1959 Silver Arrow, and the name on the stern; if the Lone Ranger had silver bullets, surely Tonto had a Silver Arrow.
Thanks Ray. Great event.
Kudos to all involved in making this event truly outstanding.
