By Janice Miller, Finger Lakes Chapter
When Paul Garrett picked up his newest purchase, a 30’ Hacker Craft triple- cockpit named Timeless, little did he anticipate it would provide a wedding ride 72 hours later…in the pouring rain! Paul, 2nd Vice President and Boat Show Chair of the Finger Lakes Chapter, is known for his acts of generosity and kindness. So when he heard that Hilary Fenner, Executive Director of the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce – an organization that partners with the Finger Lakes Chapter’s annual boat show – had planned a wedding boat ride that had fallen through, Paul stepped up.
With much help from Finger Lakes Chapter President Dave Couch who assisted and co-piloted, Paul picked up the married couple, Hilary and her new husband Jay Stith, on the east side of Skaneateles Lake and drove them the three miles into the village. While the weather did not cooperate, the joy of the day was not diminished and was much enhanced by the memorable ride in Timeless and the wonderful generosity of Paul and Dave.
