Today is the beginning of a new tradition on the ACBS website – Tuesday Tour of Vintage Boats.

Tim Bush, the Antique and Classic Boat Society’s Treasurer, sent the above picture taken of their 1972 Century Resorter Runabout 18′ taken at the Clear Lake California Event sponsored by the Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter. The passenger in the boat is Arlene Bush, Tim’s mom.

All ACBS members are invited to share pictures of their boats.

  • email the picture to kathyparker@acbs.org
  • include the boat owner’s name
  • year, manufacturer, model of boat
  • tell home port or where picture was taken
  • give credit to the photographer

Every Tuesday, there will be a tour of photos sent in by you

Here are more pictures for this first Tuesday’s Tour:

1941 Chris Craft 25′ Sportsman named Special K.

Home port for Special K is Mt. Dora, FL. She is owned by Bill and Kay Joslyn, members of Sunnyland Chapter

1957 Wizard steam powered 26′ launch named Arla Kay.

This boat was initially used as a tender for a navy whale boat. Arla Kay is owned by ACBS members Don and Arla Dial.

1954 Century Resorter named Sweet 16

Many will tell you that part of the fun is the process of preserving and restoring an antique or classic boat.  This is a picture from Todd Cushing of his Sweet 16  getting ready for the rest of her life.  Todd and Karen are members of the Heartland Classics Chapter of ACBS.
