By Neil Satterly, Adirondack Chapter

The annual Rendezvous in Old Forge, NY was held July 10 and 11. Perfect weather combined with over 45 boats registered on land and in water, a very rare 1940 Packard Woody station wagon, live music and several other land displays made for another wonderful show.

In a lighter moment, Lora renews chapter member Daniel Satterly’s membership as Ed Andrews looks on and chapter president Steve Upham breaks out in laughter.

On Friday morning the ACBS Directors held their quarterly board meeting at the Water’s Edge Resort, across from the show site. At noon the weekend events started with a lake cruise departing the Old Forge village docks arriving at the Inlet village docks for ice cream cones and sundaes and social time. The afternoon ride was 22 miles round trip on calm waters. Friday night was the traditional welcome reception catered by the Mountainside Restaurant and over-the-top dessert cakes from a local baker. A record 75-plus were in attendance.

Saturday the show went smoothly as usual and this year we got an added boost in our membership tent. Exec Director Lora Nadolsky-Hansen and ACBS President Ed Andrews joined forces with Chapter President Steve Upham for signing up and renewing members. Lora demonstrated using the website for taking credit card information.

The afternoon concluded with a boat parade up the First Lake channel led by the Old Forge Fire and Police department boats.

The Saturday awards dinner at the Thendara Golf Club restaurant capped off the weekend and as always had several people already talking about next year.

Special thanks to Bob and Alecia Boardman and Ed Andrews for bringing their boats from Maryland and New Jersey!

Next up for the Adirondack Chapter is the 52nd Annual Lake George Rendezvous, August 21-22. For more information visit the Adirondack Chapter website acbs-adc.org
