The Adirondack Chapter had a great 52nd Annual Lake George Rendezvous with perfect weather and lots of gorgeous boats on the Lake George Village docks. Friday pre-shows in Hague and Bolton Landing gave the whole lake a look, and Achilles, Tahawus, and Golden Fury were among this year’s winners.

The weekend got underway  with free public pre-shows at Rogers Memorial Park in Bolton Landing and at the Hague Town Beach Park & boat ramp. The main show filled the town docks in Lake George Village from 10 AM to 4 PM, with boats in the water and on land.

Going in, show chair Teri Hoffman promised some true showstoppers, from a 1939 Gar Wood and a 1927 Hacker Dolphin to a 1900 Fantail Launch—even an Amphicar. The Dolphin, The Tempest, went on to win Farthest Traveled after making the 950-mile trip from Aiken, SC.

Thank you to Hall’s Boat, one of our
longtime sponsors, for hosting us, and
to Boat Show Chair Teri Hoffman.

The Triumph and Model T car clubs rounded out the displays, sponsors and local boat shops set up tables on land, and the Ship’s Store sold chapter merchandise featuring our newly redesigned logo.

Lame Duck

Oh no! As we well know, sometimes old boats need a little extra attention—and a tow. Brad Pearson gave several rides in the Adironduck before the motor stopped during the Lake George Neil Satterly came to the rescue with Tahawus, with Bill Kistner (Niagara Frontier Chapter) handling the tow line from the aft deck.

Michael Glenn is overseeing repairs during the off-season to ensure the Duck is healthy again next summer. Thanks to all!
