The Glacier Lakes Chapter is known within ACBS as the Chapter that hosted the 2017 International Boat Show in Racine, Wisconsin.
Glacier Lakes Chapter is so much more! With nearly 200 members, mainly from the state of Wisconsin, this chapter holds several annual events. They exhibit at winter boat shows and have workshops. When this chapter was just 10 years old, they were named the 2014 ACBS Chapter of the Year with one of their outstanding features being the very large contributions of financial support given to Youth Programs, financing the building of a pier system at the Pewaukee Lakefront where they have one annual show, contributing to the Madison Clean Lakes Alliance, and other charities.
This year’s ACBS President Rich Lepping comes from the Glacier Lakes Chapter where he served as Commodore in the past. The Glacier Lakes newsletter “At the Waterline” edited by Wil Vidal is always colorful and full of news and helpful information. Twice in recent years, 2015 and 2011, it has won ACBS Publication Awards.
This year, for the first time, the “Madison Show” will totally be a cruising event with no static show at the docks. Cruising around the lakes surrounding Madison, Wisconsin, will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 27th and 28th. Of course, there will be great places to eat on those days, and you know a crowd will be on hand to see the vintage boats parade in and out of the docks.
Other events scheduled are:
June 22, 23 Minocqua Antique Wooden & Classic Boat Show to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society
August 10-12 Annual Door County Classic and Wooden Boat Festival
August 18 14th Annual Pewaukee Antique & Classic Boat Show
