The Sunnyland Chapter is thrilled to announce that they have been invited to show our great boats during Amelia Island Automotive Weekend.
If you’re in Florida now or planning a trip for the Sunnyland Boat Festival in Tavares, think about participating in this Amelia Island “Festival of Speed” exhibition. There is a huge cross-over of interest between vintage boats and cars.
Sunnyland Chapter of ACBS is working with Joe Sabatini, the proprietor of THE FESTIVALS OF SPEED events held at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. Joe hosted our group at his recent event at the Orlando Ritz Carlton at Grande Lakes and he featured our boats ON THE FRONT LAWN! (pictured above) and we all had a great time!
Now in its third decade, the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is among the top automotive events in the world. It is a week long Festival that now includes multiple auctions, a vintage Gran Prix and dozens of other events and things to do. It’s time for us to invade the car world and show them what “rare” really means!
To register go to www.FESTIVALSOFSPEED.com and click on “car registration”. It is a drop down and you want “car registration form”. This will bring up a short electronic form to fill out. Be sure to put “ACBS” in the “significant history” area at the bottom of the form and YOU WILL BE COMPED THE REGISTRATION FEE! You can drag and drop a photo or two onto the icon that reads “upload”. Be sure to select “Amelia Island” just below your e-mail address. This is a judged event and our group won two awards at the Ritz which were $400 Waterford Crystal Vases with wood bases and plaques. Very nice!
The move-in is between 10:00 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, March 9. There is a very elegant “Luxury Lifestyle” event that evening that you can purchase tickets for at a discount to be announced. The show is Saturday, March 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with move-out immediately after. Joe has reserved a block of rooms at the Omni for over $400 a night or the Crown Plaza Jacksonville Airport/I-95 about 15 minutes away for $109. We are working on a place to park RV’s and boats before and after the show to allow you the opportunity to fully enjoy the many events.
