There are large chapters that cover small areas like New York’s 9. Then there are small chapters that encompass large areas.  The Southwest Chapter of the ACBS covers the entire state of Texas.

The Southwest Chapter began in 1992.  Over the years, we have participated in parades along San Antonio’s Riverwalk, indoor boat shows at Houston’s Astrohall/NRG Center and   shows on Lakes Travis, Austin, LBJ, Conroe and Clear Lake.

We have two shows and one rendezvous each year, and we also participate in 2 additional shows put on by WBA (Wooden Boat Association of North Texas). Our big show is Keels & Wheels in Seabrook, held on the grounds of the beautiful Lakewood Yacht Club.

Our fall show is held on Lake LBJ near Austin, Texas. This 3-day event in October includes several runs up the lake for lunch followed by a one-day show. Our chapter rendezvous in April is held on Lake Conroe giving our members the opportunity to run the lake together.

Keels & Wheels 2026, being held on April 25th & 26th will be the 30th edition of our show. The featured marques for next year will be Century, Riva, and “High Performance Boats”. We would love for you to bring your beautiful boats to display and join us for a great time. Feel free to contact me or visit our the Southwest Chapter website for more information if you have questions.
