Just 15 days until these amazing works of art will be docking at Carnelian Bay on Lake Tahoe for the ACBS International Boat Show.
“Miss de Meanor” is a 16′ 1949 custom built runabout.
Owner Franc Casey tells this story;
The Miss story is great from start to finish. She passed through five owners before me. Each one bought her with the intent of saving her. That last one sold her with my promise t I would do so. At her first show, she was not entered for judging. Because the judges wanted to know more about her they judged her anyway. She left that day with 6 awards. People’s Choice, Most Unique Boat, Skippers Choice, 1st Place Runabout under 22′, Junior Skippers Award. Thunderbird Award. Not bad for a 16′ orphan. Built by an electrician in his garage he took from a1935 Ford, the dashboard, steering, Ford Flathead V8, and fuel tank and incorporated them into her design. It took me 3 years to track down her builder family. At the show as I tell her story, people say, ” I love her, but love her story even more.”
