“Lake Affect” is a 2015 ACBS Gold Contemporary Award winner.
“Lake Affect” was built in 2002. She is 15 ft. 9 in., a Budsin Electric Lightning Bug owned by Dennis Eiynck & Brigid Scanlan. They are members of the Bob Speltz Land-0-Lakes Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society.
Wooden boats that have been built within the most recent 25 years are officially in the “Contemporary” classification. Gold Awards are presented to boats that are judged to be worthy of 92 through 96 points. At the Annual International Boat Show held at Gull Lake, Minnesota, 31 Gold Awards in total were presented to boats in various classes.
