Two perfect weather days in Old Forge, NY set the stage for a great rendezvous. On Friday afternoon out-of-towners arrived early enough to join in a smooth lake cruise from Old Forge docks to Inlet.

There, new friends were discovered in conversation over ice cream. The Fulton Chain shoreline is punctuated by many interesting spots and historic points such as U.S. President Benjamin Harrison’s (1889-1893) summer retreat.

The Friday evening cocktail mixer overlooking the Old Forge First Lake pond was a time for catching up with old friends and making more new friends. On Saturday 42 boats were registered, with multiple land displays that made up a hard to match diversity of boats and displays. The diversity of boats was matched by the diversity of attendees from neighboring chapters, most of whom brought boats. The ACBS chapters represented included: Niagara Frontier, Wine Country, Finger Lakes, 1000 Islands, Lake Champlain and even Sunnyland!

Thank you all for coming and thank you to Rob Kidd, John Hornick and many others for tireless work putting the weekend together.

The FCR is a non-judged event with show participants voting for their favorite boats within the ACBS classifications.

If you missed this year’s rendezvous, mark your calendars for next year, July 7-8, 2023!
