From the Thousand Islands Chapter, Photos by Aaron Hanson

The Thousand Islands Chapter hosted it’s 42nd Annual Boat Show in Alexandria Bay, New York. Billed as a “User” boat show, this event features a wide range of vintage boats…that are all still in use in the Thousand Islands as family boats each and every summer. The Chapter was very excited to welcome back it’s Ontario members for the first time in three years, so both sides of the St. Lawrence River were represented.

The show is wonderfully diverse with everything from historic St. Lawrence skiffs, Number Boats, and Elco cruisers, to classic Hackers, Chris-Crafts and Lymans, and late classic Grady Whites and Donzis.

The Antique Boat Museum also brought a few boats to the show including Flat Top the 1955 Chris-Craft Semi-Enclosed cruiser formerly owned and donated to the Museum by country music star, Alan Jackson. The world famous 1921 Ventnor race boat,  Dixie Baby with it’s amazing Hispano Suuiza engine was on land display, greeting all visitors at the entrance of the show.

Show chairs Randy Fletcher and Heidi Szonn did a wonderful job of organizing the event!
