Hillside Powersports & Marine is recognized as the ACBS Associate Member of the week.

Hillside Powersports & Marine is an Associate Member of the Antique and Classic Boat Society.  ACBS recognizes them with gratitude for their support of our organization. This business is also a member of the Northern California/Lake Tahoe chapter where owners Paul and Barbara Beunig enjoy using their own 1960 Chris Craft 19′ Continental.

Here is the history of the company;\:

Hillside Honda Yamaha Marine has been serving California families and enthusiasts alike for over 50 years! We have been family owned and operated since 1958 when Ed and Charlotte Brown built the Bar-B Marina on Clearlake in Nice, CA. The business began as a marine repair facility and boat storage and within a few years started selling Raysoncraft boats and in 1962 we began selling Honda motorcycles.

As the business grew, the decision was made to start manufacturing our own boats and Avenger Fiberglass Mfg. Co. was born. Ed, along his wife Charlotte, son Eddie, and daughter Barbara all worked together at the business building competition race boats and family ski boats. At this time the Honda business was moved up on the hill above Carson Way and Lakeshore Blvd, as “Hillside Honda”.

In 1975 the business, in its entirety, was moved to 2544 East Hwy 20 in Nice and once again we were on a “Hillside”. Paul, Ed’s son-in-law, who had been running the fiberglass part of the business, upon Ed’s passing, moved into the retail end of the Honda Business. This time was also known as the “Odyssey Era.” In 1990 we added Yamaha to our lineup and ever since have been offering full line Honda and Yamaha motorcycles, ATV’s, personal watercraft, and power equipment.

We outgrew our facility on Hwy 20 in Nice and in the spring of 1995 moved the business to our current location; 460 South Main Street, in Lakeport. Although the move was somewhat of a disappointment to our North Shore customers we are still able to please them along with the people of Lakeport and the south county.

Our customers have come from all over California, and literally worldwide, to shop at Hillside. We have a reputation for excellence in our service department, price competitiveness and customer satisfaction from our sales department, and a parts department that accommodates a number of enthusiasts; whether on land or water.

With over 50 years under our belt we are looking forward to the future!

Come Ride with Us on Land and Water!
