An Invite from The Sunnyland Chapter
Com’ on down! Winter is over in Florida and the years’ first and biggest boat show of them all is about to start. The Show starts Friday, March 25 and ends at noon Sunday, March 27, 1922.
The Sunnyland Antique Boat Festival is in its 41st year and is back on track after a two-year pause. Our footprint is over a third of a mile long and we usually have 250 to 300 boats on display. Our gate will be 8 to 10 thousand people and there is literally something for everyone at our event. The location is on the shore of Lake Dora at the new and greatly enlarged Wooten Park and marina in the city of Tavares.
Our nautical flea market has more than 80 vendors with many hard-to-find marine parts for sale. We will have several stunning outboard motors on display by AOMCI members as well as numerous race boats. The Amphi-Cars will do their famous splash-ins at the boat ramp. The annual picnic on Friday will feature boat rides through three lakes and the famous Dora Canal with its old growth cypress trees. Miss America IX is restored and will be back for a special run in our show on Saturday morning.
Our annual event is in conjunction with spring break and is the kick-off show for the boating season. People from all over the country attend our show and we have representation from over 26 different states. We have several corporate sponsors that make our show a success and they offer many marine products to include new and restored vintage boats. Our Field of Dreams has antique and classic boats for sale and many of them are ready to launch and use.
The Sunnyland Chapter is one of the largest chapters in ACBS and represents the entire state of Florida.
