September 15–21, 2025 was the Antique and Classic Boat Society’s (ACBS) Vintage Boat Week in Clayton, NY. The theme for the event was “Celebrating 50 years in 2025!”

For those who could not make it to Clayton, ACBS requested their chapter plan a local boating activity for September 20th. As we knew most of our boats would be out of the water by September 20th, LHACBS dedicated our August 7th and August 28th cruise nights to honor ACBS’s 50 years in 2025.

To celebrate further, on September 27th our chapter held a 50 Year Anniversary Celebration at Lee’s Park Pavilion, Mt. Arlington, NJ. Together, we celebrated 50 years of LHACBS and 50 years of ACBS. This event proved to be one of our most successful events ever, as 96 members were in attendance!

The highlight of the event was local historian Marty Kane’s entertaining presentation of Lake Hopatcong Marinas, Then and Now. Attendees also received a 50 Year Anniversary Celebration program, prepared by Wayne Markovich. A huge “Thank You” to Barbara Edwards, Mike Smith and Wayne Markovich for organizing this event. Another “Thank You” to those volunteers, who helped make it possible. To see pictures from this event, please go to our club’s website, www.lhacbs.org, and click on Gallery.
