St. Michaels Concours d’ Elegance

By Alicia Boardman, Chesapeake Bay Chapter Member

On Sunday, September 25 the Chesapeake Bay Chapter once again attended the 15th Annual Concours d’ Elagance hosted by https://smcde.org/

This beautiful event was hosted on the banks of the Tred- Avon river and we had 12 boats in attendance. The Talbot Country Club was transformed into a palatial car museum and exotic cars were transported from all over the country. The Chairman, Luke Phipps and his team did a fabulous job of assembling a stunning collection of some of the  finest automobiles I have ever seen.

Our members were given all access passes and were treated to a gourmet lunch and at the end of the day a highly entertaining awards ceremony. The master of ceremonies is a walking encyclopedia of car history. In the end, our very own Steve Blizzard took 1st place for 1947 Ventnor and Jay Spiegel took second with his 1985 Gold Cup Racer. The awards for this event are highly sought after as they are hand sculpted by the Honorable John C. North.

The Chesapeake Bay Chapter is thrilled to be a part of the St. Michaels Concours d’ Elegance and is proud to support their efforts to help the Children’s Inn at the National Institute of Health in Washington DC. https://smcde.org/donate/—

Stan Boardman served as the judge for the boats at this event.
