From the Awards Committee

Each year ACBS members nominate worthy candidates for the annual international awards. These awards, given at the ACBS Annual Meeting and International Boat Show, recognize exemplary efforts of chapters and volunteers to further the hobby of antique and classic boat stewardship. Congratulations to all of the 2022 ACBS International Award winners!

 

Hagerty Safety Award:

Mark Manes, Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter for his outstanding article on Trailering 101 published in the Spring 2022 edition of Western Wood.

 

Spirit of the Sport Award donated by the Bob Speltz Land O Lakes Chapter:

Steve Shoop, Bob Speltz Land O Lakes Chapter in Fluke, the judged Boat with the highest points that also participated in the Pre-event Cruises.

 

Publication Awards:

Large Chapter (with over 200 members):

Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter, Western Wood, Lee and Sandy Chase, Editors

Medium Chapter (with 100 to 200 members):

Glacier Lakes Chapter, At The Waterline, Wil Vidal, Editor

Small Chapter (with less than 100 members):

Southwest Chapter, South Western, Craig Stanfield, Editor

 

Website Awards:  

1st Place: Heartland Classics, Kathy Parker, Webmaster

2nd Place: Glacier Lakes Chapter, Matt Byrne, Webmaster

         

Chapter Growth Awards:  

Greatest Number of New Members: Big Sky Chapter

Greatest Percentage Increase in Membership: Bluegrass Chapter

 

The Chapter of the Year Award:

The Sunnyland Chapter.

 

The Mary Herwig Award donated by the Manotick Classic Boat Club:

John Heiderich, Past President of the Blue Ridge Chapter.

 

The ACBS Rover Award donated by the Toronto Chapter: 

Guy Marvin, III and Gerald Dake of the Sunnyland Chapter for 25 years of cruises through 140 miles along the St. Johns River and its tributaries. 

 

Terry Fiest Award sponsored by the Sunnyland Chapter:

Terry Fiest in recognition of his exemplary dedication, leadership, and vision as Chair of the Sunnyland Wooden Boat Festival.
