The Long Island Chapter of ACBS received its charter in 1981. Officers at the chapter’s founding included organizer Rosemary Reder, Richard Willis, First Vice President, Bob Woodworth, Secretary and Gale Aziano, Treasurer. The Chapter’s newsletter is called Nuts and Boats.

The group enjoys scenic cruises up and down the Hudson with stops at Shelter Island and workshops where members gain skills and work on restorations like a 1956 Eltro.

Originally called the New York Metro-Long Island Chapter, still today, the Long Island Chapter has unsurpassed boating opportunities passing some of the most iconic places in US history.

  1. Hi, my name is Thomas.

I am a managing partner of the 1913 Helena . The Helena is a Lawlwy Double Ender built in the pond at Massachusetts.

I reside in Bellport Village and there are several classic and antique boats and their owners that are interested in producing an antique boat parade past the Bellport Village dock and or the Patchogue Village dock.

I would like to know if you guys might be interested in participating in some capacity. Most importantly sending boats out to our parade. We would be producing this event for a late July and we are in the preliminary stages.

Text is best at 631-880-2693. My name is Thomas Schultz and if you search “Helena” and “Bellport” on Facebook you’ll come across the boat I am associated with
