Oh, the things you could learn at our featured ACBS Associate Member of the Week.
The Great Lakes Boat Building School is “housed in an impressive 12,000 square-foot waterfront facility, east of the Mackinac Bridge along the northern shore of Lake Huron in the Les Cheneaux Islands. These thirty-six islands provide sheltered channels and bays within the Straits of Mackinac – a historic harbor area for boaters and explorers.”
ACBS recognizes them with gratitude for their support of our organization.
They are also members of the Water Wonderland and Michigan Chapters. The Great Lakes Boat Building School also gives additional support to ACBS by paying for space in our Suppliers Section of the Directory.
GLBBS has been an Associate Member of ACBS for eleven years. Many members of ACBS have had personal training at their facilities. And many GLBBS graduates are now the technicians and artisans who restore, preserve, and even build contemporary classic boats.
Here is an excerpt from their website:
IF YOU ARE THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT. . .
…is eager to learn a new trade and to work with your hands
…isn’t afraid of hard work and getting a little dirty
…considers themself a problem solver
…has a love for the boats and the maritime industry
. . .THEN GLBBS MAY JUST BE CHANGE IN COURSE THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.
Take a tour of more of their facilities and their various training programs on the Great Lakes Boat Building School website.
The Antique and Classic Boat Society appreciates the extra support given to our organization by Associate Members. Click here to see this year’s list of Associate Members.
