Indoor Boat Show Season

Indoor boat show season is upon us and Baystate Classic Boat Club was invited back to the New England Boat show for the first time since the pandemic. The promoter offered us a 60’ x 40’ booth at no cost and donated the carpeting as well. So we had a great location this year, with all the big boat brands around us and great exposure to the public.

With the spacious booth given, the club decided to showcase the entire spectrum of boats in the ACBS. We exhibited a 1910 Old Town canoe, a 8’ outboard hydro racer, 1969 12’ Impala Craft Avenger, 1965 18’ White outboard lapstrake, 10’ Saling Dingy Dorade built by the students at IYRS, 1955 Riva Ariston, 1948 Chris Craft Deluxe and a 1974 21′ Glastron Carlson with a 455ci Oldsmobile-Berkley jet drive. This turned out to be a great strategy as we observed the spectators over the length of the show being drawn in by different boats. The homebuilt outboard Hydro racer got as much attention as the flawlessly restored Glastron and Riva.

Baystate Chapter wants to thank the National Marine Manufacturers Association and Discover Boating Boat Shows for the space and for the flexibility in setting up ahead of allotted time, before the arrival of a Nor’easter winter storm on our scheduled move in time.
