What an excellent and enjoyable Kickoff Meet and Greet today (2/2/19) at Middendorf’s Restaurant. We had a great crew with both some new faces along with some of the regulars.
After lunch we went around the table with members introducing themselves and stating the boats that they have. Then we retired out to the dock for picture taking and conversation around a couple of boats members brought. Greg Lemons showed up in his Grand Banks Malindy. The Malindy is a top notch boat and Greg is in process of doing quite a few repairs to keep it that way. All the blue trim tape that was on the boat today for Greg’s repairs doesn’t diminish the beauty of this boat one bit. I was fortunate enough to get to accompany Benjamin Saunders aboard his Duffy electric drive boat “Wild Thing”. It’s a very unique and interesting boat indeed.
You could feel the energy within this group today and know it’s going to be a fantastic 2019 as most everyone there is onboard and anticipating the Tchefuncte Cruise scheduled for March 30th.
Below are some pictures taken out by the dock. Also, I’ve posted a YouTube video while riding aboard Benjamin Saunders’ quiet and peaceful electric drive. I think you all will particularly enjoy the footage of the pelican that glided up to us. Here’s the video – https://youtu.be/Fvet-G5KWGY
