NO MORE DOOM AND GLOOM AND NO MORE CLOUDY SKIES!!!!
THE PATH FORWARD IS BLUE SKIES AND WATER DOCKS!!!!
Last week the City of Tavares stepped up and solved the Dock issues. They contracted with a company out of Monett, Missouri named EZ Dock Inc. for 70 floating slips. Thirty-five of the of the slips will accommodate boats less than 20 feet and thirty-five of the slips will accommodate boats up to 26 feet. This is a major accomplishment for the Sunnyland Chapter. Our registration is up and running and we are anticipating another great fun event. Register Here.
Since this is an Antique and Classic Boat Show, we will fill the slips with Classic Boats. We will let you know when the water docks are filled and if you don’t get a slip, you have the option to be on Land Display. Either way, plan on attending and come and enjoy the Friendship and Comradery that has made the Sunnyland Boat Festival such a great success. For most of us, it’s like “Home Coming”, a place to bask in the sun, re-new old friendships, and talk about Boats!!
Just a reminder the ACBS will hold their quarterly Board Meeting on Thursday Mar 21st at the Mission Inn. ACBS members can register for the meeting online at www.myacbs.org. We have a block of rooms set aside at the Mission Inn and there are plenty of hotels in the area. Also on Thursday night, the City of Tavares will welcome everyone for a reception at the City Pavilion onsite and will update you on the future of the Marina.
We are in the process of developing the program for the ACBS Symposium and this year we have teamed up with the new Florida Vintage Race Boat Club (FVRC). Some of our speakers will present on Race Boats. In addition, The FVRC will hold their event a week prior to the Sunnyland Festival (Mar 15-17, 2019)
Both the South bound and North bound River Cruises are starting to fill up and all indications are that we will have another outstanding event.
Friday night at the Captains Party, everyone is encouraged to wear a Beach Shirt and enjoy the Beach Music from the Caribbean Chillers.
When you add up the FVRC event plus the North and South Bound River Cruises plus all the Sunnyland Events, you are in store for another great show.
All the information is on our web site at www.acbs-sunnyland.org
We will keep you informed as we get closer to the show. We certainly look forward to seeing all of you in Sunny Florida. The forecast is for Sun-Fun-Docks and Boats.
SO COME ON DOWN. YOU’LL HAVE A GREAT TIME. I GUARANTEE IT!!!
