The second largest Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society is named the Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter.
Members of the Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter like to socialize with or without their boats. Their first chapter event of the year is a Spring Fling – this year it was at Cambria, CA with tours of the Hearst Castle, golfing for some, and then learning about the restoration of the Piedras Blancas lighthouse and the surrounding plant life and the sea animal in the beautiful blue waters surrounding the point.
The boating season begins in May when they co-host a large boat show with the Southern California Chapter at Bass Lake.
The No. CA/Lake Tahoe & So. CA ACBS Chapters want to invite all ACBS members and their guests to the first in the water boating event of the 2018 boating season for a very fun and relaxing weekend at Bass Lake. The dates are May 18 – 20, 2018. Sign up early and make your reservations ASAP so you don’t miss out on a truly memorable weekend.
Click here for details and online registration. Registration DEADLINE May 7th.
This year’s Bass Lake event will be the 1st Annual ACBS NC/SC Swap Meet! which sounds like great fun. The event includes a boat parade, fly-by, poker run, and food, food, food.
Maybe this will become your traditional trip to open the boating season for you.
The next Chapter boating event named Wood & Glory is at Clear Lake the weekend of May 31st. That is followed by a series of social get-togethers throughout the summer season where members boat and drive, usually to a chapter member’s place, for a pot-luck BBQ. If you are in the vacinity this summer, check out the Woodie Whoopie events.
The fun just keeps churning in the fall starting at Shasta Lake in September and the Delta Cruise in October. Enjoy the reports from past events by clicking here, and hopefully you will join them in the future.
