Smith Mountain Lake Chapter is a very active ACBS chapter centered around one lake, where members live or visit.
Smith Mountain Lake is located in south-central Virginia. This reservoir created in 1963 is nestled in a valley of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Many classic boat owners were drawn to live near this lake. A high percentage of the membership participate in the monthly meetings. Looking at their Smith Mountain Lake chapter calendar, though, shows a variety of activities every month with rendezvous at various times of day and a variety of locations around the lake. Gathering for breakfast or lunch with several vintage boats always creates a “mini show” and piques the interest of residents and tourists alike.
The chapter’s official annual show will be their 27th on September 16th at Mariners Landing Resort Community & Conference Center. Click here for more details.
Smith Mountain Lake Chapter will be hosting the Antique and Classic Boat Society quarterly meeting in June 2018. This will be a great opportunity for even more ACBS members to experience the beauty of Smith Mountain Lake and the hospitality of the Smith Mountain Lake Chapter.
54 International Chapters of ACBS
The Antique and Classic Boat Society has 54 Chapters throughout the United States, Canada, and France. ACBS members who affiliate with a home chapter find a group of friends with whom to share boating experiences, boat stories, and the skills needed to maintain and/or preserve and restore their vintage boats. Inevitably, the genuine relationships formed at the chapter level are always mentioned when an ACBS member is asked why they value their ACBS membership.
When you click on the CHAPTERS tab in the menu above, a world map will appear showing the location of the ACBS Chapters. Which one is closest to you? Or maybe there is a chapter near the lake where you vacation that has an event scheduled which you could attend.
Please share information about your chapter. Anyone can do that. You may email up to six pictures and text to kathyparker@acbs.org.
