The Southwest Chapter communicates frequently with their members by using emails, a newsletter called the Sou-Wester, and they share their news with the public through a website and a Facebook Group.
The Chapter just completed sharing information about ACBS last weekend at the Houston Boat Show at Reliant Center.
The Southwest Chapter organizes one of the biggest boat shows early in the year. Keels and Wheels is located just south of Houston at Seabrook, Texas the first full weekend in May – this year May 5-6.
Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance is a weekend-long, nationally acclaimed classic car and vintage wooden boat show that takes place each spring at the Lakewood Yacht Club in beautiful Seabrook, Texas. Founded by Lakewood Board Members Bob Fuller and Paul Merryman in 1995, today Keels & Wheels welcomes approximately 200 cars and 100 boats, and has raised more than $1.7 million for local charities, while drawing thousands of participants and spectators from all over the U.S. and Europe.
Last year, this chapter sponsored a fun week-long cruise through the Bayou Teche in Louisiana. The report of that cruise is fun to review.
Also on the calendar each year for the Southwest Chapter is the Hill Country Boat Show at Horseshoe Bay Resort on Lake LBJ in October. Pictures in this collage were taken at the Hill Country Boat Show in 2017 by Lisa Robinson:
