Our 1970 Olympic Dinghy was restored in 2010 and she has seen only 2 seasons with me so I don’t really have a lot of info to share. She was purchased from a retired international sailor and, tender to his vintage schooner! She saw the Mediterranean! He bought her in Olympia, WA, sometime in the 70’s. He thought, from an unknown shipwright. No builder or maker available.
She was sun dried as hell. no rot! I dipped her in penetrating epoxy and copied the seats in mahogany. Hull paint matches mother ship. Ewart follows Morganna (featured on Jan 30th 2020) to Lake Pend O’reille seasonally, and sails the bay in Bayview. She moves fast! Sail or electric outboard.
