This week really kicks off the winter boat show season, where now through April, at regional event centers and fairgrounds across North America the latest models of watercraft are on display for you to check out and buy. They’ll be showing everything from PWCs, fishing boats, pontoons, and wake boats, up to large cruisiers and yachts. When you go, be sure to look for our local ACBS chapter’s booth, as they will also be in attendance at many of these boat shows. Their boats might not be for sale, but it is fun to compare the antique and classic boats that first made their debut at a winter boat show some 25, 50, or 100 years ago to the ones being offered today. It is amazing to see what technological changes have been made over time, and what aspects of good boat design have remained the same for so long.
