Antique & Classic Boat Society, Long Island Chapter first event for 2018 !

Report and photos by Jan Lowry, Vice President L.I. Chapter, ACBS

The newly re-activated Long Island Chapter had its first event of the year! Although it was a small gathering from the Long Island Chapter on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Long Island Maritime Museum in Sayville, NY everyone had a good time.

Our Chapter was invited to attend the 130th Birthday celebration of the Historic Oyster Sloop, “Priscilla” owned by the Museum. There were Pirates, Cannon firings on the hour, Sea Chanty singers, kids building sail boat models from kits (with the help from our Chapter volunteers),and a large sheet cake to celebrate the event! Fortunately, the weather cooperated and the Chapter was able to generate some interest with the public in attendance about ACBS and our mission.

Thank you, Jan Lowry, Vice President Long Island Chapter, ACBS
