On Saturday, July 13, 2019, seven members and four boats made their way across the calm waters of the Great South Bay off the south shore of Long Island, New York.

Under sparkling blue skies, Moonglow – the solid 37’ Egg Harbor, owned by Bob Williams & Judy Campbell; the very tall 34’ Silverton Adagio, owned by Laura & Robert Almond; little 17’ Stormy C, owned by Chris Almond; and the only sailboat in our midst – 23’ Viking Cuttlefish, owned by Matt & Fanny Kleisler; headed to the Connetquot River for the Long Island Chapter’s summer raft-up.

The Connetquot River is a nice, sheltered place to spend a summer afternoon and most of the group enjoyed lounging and chatting, while Judy and Fanny kayaked up-River toward the scenic Bayard Cutting Arboretum!  Everyone brought lunch, snacks and extra to share, while the Chapter provided beverages.  This will definitely become a yearly, maybe twice yearly, event.
