What happens when an old “Burger Barge” and one-of-a-kind Chris-Craft Aquahome becomes a second home?
Kirk and Jeanine Hoffman, Water Wonderland Chapter members, purchased their Aquahome in 2022. Armed with blueprints acquired from The Mariners’ Museum and Park in Newport News, Virginia they got started on a renovation to return their Aquahome to near it’s original state.

In 1997, One of a Kind was known as “The Burger Barge”. Her galley kitchen had been turned commercial.
Chris-Craft began a limited run of Aquahome houseboats in their Cadillac, Michigan plant in 1968. There were 50 boats produced and One Of A Kind was number 25 in that run. The base price was $9,990. All 50 Aquahomes had fiberglass hulls and were white with a yellow stripe. At 33-feet 3-inches long with a 12-foot beam and a 32-inch draft, they had a 283-F V-8 engine that generated 185 HP and with a Volvo Penta outdrive. Their was delivered to Tower Marine in Douglas, Michigan from the Cadillac plant on May 17, 1968.
