The Southwest Chapter is dedicated to preserving and enjoying antique and classic boats. They proudly serve Texas, plus several members from Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
Our mission is to preserve and enjoy the heritage of classic and antique boats. We do this through regular chapter meetings and fun boating events.
The chapter starts the year with a cruise through the Bayou country in April.
Then every May they co-sponsor the nationally acclaimed Keels & Wheels Concours d’ Elegance at Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas. It is one of the premier classic car and boat shows in the country. This annual event through the years has raised over one million dollars to support the Boys and Girls Club. At the show, there is great family participation with kids building a boat, painting a boat, even assembling an outboard motor.
And finally, in the fall, the chapter meets for a boating event on Lake LBJ near Austin, TX. This one must be fun as its billing boasts of dinner and donuts.
The Antique and Classic Boat Society is an international organization made up of 54 chapters. There are chapters in the United States, Canada, and France. Each one of the chapters has a dedicated page on this website that includes the upcoming events which have been submitted to ACBS, news articles in which the chapter has been tagged, and any additional pictures identified with the chapter.
Always identified with a certain geographic region, they all seem to have their own personality, too.
