Thought I would send a picture taken a week ago of our 1962 Century Resorter 19’ named Ginger (pictured above). We were anchored just off Chimney beach on Lake Tahoe. This is our first season as wood boat owners. We had a great time with her this summer. She came from Illinois and is now a California boat. I took the pic with my phone in the water. A waterproof case came in handy.

A true “barn find”. The original owner purchased the boat new in 1962 and used it only a few times before passing away. The boat has been stored inside ever since. I purchased the boat this June from the original owner’s granddaughter. The boat has its original 1962 Evinrude outboards and Tee-Nee trailer.

I am 65 and I was raised around boats. I have always loved them. Have owned many. I am a car guy too. I have MS, but can still drive a manual trans. I don’t have a boat, but I have an Amphicar! One of those boat/cars. Have been into them for 35 years. Love the water! Give free rides. Can’t get enough! Will send you a photo
I’ve always loved old wooden boats! Are there ever any events here in Phoenix? Moved here 7 years ago. Love it! On water 12 months/year. Have been all over the US on lots of lakes! Now by chance I live only 25 min from the best lake in the country, Saguaro Lake. No kidding! You would not believe it. Check it out in the pic I send you.
Hope we get to meet!

The boat was originally purchased by my dad in 1968. It was used extensively in Ocean City NJ. When I went into the Air Force in 1970 my dad was going to sell the boat, but after much “negotiation” he agreed to give it to my wife and me as long as “he never saw another bill from it!” We proceeded to store it for 4 years then brought it out and used it until now. It is currently undergoing a complete renovation in Mooresville, NC.
