Vixen is a 1948 Chris Craft 17’ Deluxe Runabout, powered by a KBL Racing engine. The Boat is owned by Roger Fox of Shoreview, MN. The boat was manufactured in Cadillac, Michigan and delivered to a dealer in Superior, Wisconsin. Vixen has been seen on a Channel Nine report on the health of Minnesota lakes, and also in a MPCA instructional video for lake monitoring volunteers.
There’s a mystery, too about this boat. If you look under the carb cover, there is a heart scratched into the metal with an arrow going through it, with the words, “Frenchy Loves Donna”. Roger often wonders if they ever married or was it for just one night?
Ironically, this “fast” boat plies “Snail” Lake in Shoreview!
